Volleyball
In volleyball, injury prevention is essential to ensure players' continuity and performance. To avoid ankle sprains, it is essential to strengthen the leg muscles and wear shoes with good support. Preventing knee injuries, such as patellar tendonitis, involves specific strengthening exercises, regular stretching and correct jumping techniques. Strengthening the back and core muscles, maintaining proper posture and practising stretching exercises all help to prevent injuries in this area. To prevent injuries to the hands and fingers, it's important to use correct touching and blocking techniques, keep nails short and use protection when necessary.
In the case of the shoulders, incorporating strengthening and mobility exercises, as well as practising proper techniques, helps with prevention. Avoiding overtraining, establishing balanced training programmes and promoting effective communication between players help prevent overuse injuries. Preventative measures in relation to contact include teaching safe techniques for falls, promoting communication and using protective equipment when necessary. In summary, prevention in volleyball requires a holistic approach, encompassing strengthening, technical gesture training, equipment care and prudent training management for safe and long-lasting practice.
