Skating
In skating, you need to pay close attention to injury prevention. Wearing suitable skates, strengthening ankle muscles and adopting safe falling techniques all help to prevent injuries. Protective equipment such as knee pads, elbow pads and helmets are essential to minimise bruising and protect against head injuries. Strengthening exercises for the leg muscles help prevent knee injuries, while maintaining correct posture and strengthening the core help prevent back injuries. Wearing appropriate gloves and elbow pads may be necessary from time to time to protect elbows and hands.
Structuring balanced training programmes, including rest periods, is key to preventing overtraining and reducing the risk of muscle fatigue. To summarise, skating safety involves a complete approach that includes suitable equipment, safe techniques and balanced physical conditioning.
